Biotechnology is a branch of Science which deals with the processing of living organisms or biological systems to make, develop or modify a new product for specific use. This technology is used in the field of medicine, food production, and agriculture. Bachelor of Science Biotechnology Course Details

The duration for this course is 3 years which is further divided into 6 semesters. In each semester, a candidate has to pass various theoretical and practical subjects relevant to the respective field.
The students must pass their Higher Secondary Examination(HSC) with the following subjects: Chemistry, English, Biology/ Biotechnology, Mathematics, Physics or any other Life Sciences Subjects as Optional subjects. Also, the candidate must score 50% of aggregate marks in 10+2 examination.
During this 3-year full-time program, the candidates will learn the following subjects: Biophysical Chemistry, Cell Biology and Genetics, Bioenergetics and Biomembranes, Animal and Plant Physiology, Biostatistics and Computer, Animal and Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Biological Chemistry and various relevant practical subjects.

There is a vast range of career opportunities for an expert biotechnologist. The graduates of this field can get jobs in various sectors. A fresher graduate in government/private sector can get a salary in the range of  Rs. 10000-20000, but highly skilled and well-experienced professionals can get a salary beyond the expectations.
